Our farm had an huge barn and we tried for many years to maintain it. Unfortunately with no animals using it it began to look like it was going to collapse. We decided to use what we could and rebuild it into a smaller building using part of the old barn foundation. We call it the piggery but use it to store our equipment.
We have large double doors on the piggery so I thought we could mount a barn quilt on the doors, half on each door. The measurements were perfect. We then decided that the flying geese pattern would suit since we are on a flyover spring and fall with several geese stopping by the pond.
Hiliary came up with the beautiful design and the bright colours so it is seen from the road. We are set well back on the property so the large bright geese stand out.
We are happy to join the quilt trail.
